Nico Prinsloo is currently Group CEO for the Rema Africa group, under which SARMCOL sits as a subsidiary. He joined the group in 2015 as a Group Financial Manager and quickly moved on to become CFO for the group in 2019. He was then appointed Group Managing Director for the Rema group in 2021 and later the same year took on his current position of group CEO.

Nico is an accountant by trade and an experienced finance manager who started off his career in a traditional auditing firm where he did his articles. He has worked in finance departments for a large part of his career, leading him to his current position.

As the man at the helm of Rema and through the subsidiary relationship, SARMCOL, he views the groups’ main strength as having access to their own in-house R&D team – something that is unmatched in the African market and allows them to offer tailor-made solutions to clients.

Nico is passionate about the rubber industry and believes that it is an age old product whose fundamentals will never go away, particularly within the mining industry. His main vision and goal for SARMCOL is not only to restore the name to its previous glory in South Africa as a respected leader in the mining sector in terms of quality of products and services, but to grow the name into the rest of Africa as well.

Nico’s vision is to ensure that skills in the industry are nurtured and grown, as there is a dire shortage in the industry.
